AMERICA RECYCLES DAY: America Recycles Day, a program of Keep America Beautiful, is a nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States. Every year since 1997, on or around November 15, event organizers educate neighbors, friends, and colleagues through thousands of education and collection programs across the country. This year alone, there are over 2,000 registered events across the country, and an estimated two million people will take part in the celebration at events focused on collecting recyclables, clothing swaps, to recycled art projects; learn more at www.americarecyclesday.org/events/.

To contribute to the celebration, the VT Child Passenger Safety Program and the Lamoille Regional Solid Waste Management District are teaming together to host a car seat recycling event on Nov. 15, from 10AM-1PM at the National Guard Armory (45 Farr Ave.) in Morrisville, VT. When asked, many parents say they are interested in recycling car seats, but are unsure how. This collection event will properly dispose of the recyclable components: including the plastic, metal, and fabric, which account for up to 90% of the car seat composition.
