The Colchester Historical Society would like to share their upcoming program: On Monday, Nov. 14 at 7 pm, Vermont artist Robert Waldo Brunelle, Jr, will present a brief history of 19th century photography, from its invention by Daguerre through the Brownie Box Camera of the 1920’s. Examples of several types of 19th century photography will be on display. We will learn how to tell the difference between daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, tintypes, glass plate negatives, paper photos, and magic lantern slides. Takes place next door at the Meeting House (828 Main St.). Free and open to the public, refreshments to follow.
