Harwood Student Government Blood Drive Nov. 8

Past event
Nov 8, 2016, 10:30 AM to 4 PM

The Harwood Union Student Government is sponsoring a blood drive on Tuesday November 8, 2016 at 10:30 am - 4pm in the Middle School Multi-purpose Room. Public is welcome. Blood donors must be at least 17 years of age, or 16 with parental consent, weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good health on the day of donation. Young people under the age of 19 may need to meet additional height and weight restrictions.
There will be an opportunity for staff and students to make an appointment, during the lunch blocks on Friday November 4 & Monday November 7 or you can sign-up online at redcrossblood.org/RapidPass. Parent consent forms for 16 year-old will be available at the sign-up table or can be downloaded at http://www.redcrossblood.org. Walk-in donors from the community are always welcome, but we encourage appointments to save you time.
Donors can safely give blood every eight weeks and most medications and medical conditions do not prevent someone from being a blood donor. The Red Cross encourages healthy adults to give blood and share their good health with those who must rely on blood transfusions. You can sign up online and do a RAPID PASS. This allows you to bypass the in person health history and save yourself at least 15 minutes at your donation! Visit redcrossbloood.org/rapidpass the day of your donation. To find another Red Cross blood drive, or to make an appointment, call 1-800 RED CROSS. If you are still not convinced to give here are a few other compelling reasons to consider donating:
• Fresh baked goods and other delicious refreshments are being served all day to donors.
• Young people who begin donating in high school tend to be lifelong donors.... so think about the
potential blood donating capacity this will create
