Vermont Catholic Charities

Incorporated in 1929, Vermont Catholic Charities (VCC) is a statewide social services agency with a mission to reach out from the heart to serve people in need. VCC is proud to provide services to individuals and families, of all faiths and races. Programs include the following:

• Emergency Aid: With offices in South Burlington and Rutland, VCC works with clients who are unemployed, underemployed, and those who face unexpected crises in their lives. Clients are helped with immediate basic needs like rent, food, and utilities and referred to other agencies who might provide additional benefits.
• Counseling: Counselors provide individual, family and couples' counseling helping clients with a variety of personal difficulties including grief, anxiety, depression, marriage, and family conflicts, physical or emotional distress and trauma, and recovery from divorce.
• Prison Ministry: Dedicated volunteers support inmates while in correctional facilities. We also provide financial resources to newly released inmates to help them have a chance at a new start.
• Residential Care Homes: VCC operates three residential care homes. Over 80% of residents are on Medicaid. For each Medicaid resident, we supplement the cost of care since the reimbursement rate does not cover the total cost of care.
