The T.W. Wood Gallery is offering a variety of art classes for adults this September! These classes will spark your creativity whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist. Our classes are open to everyone. Develop your skills and make something beautiful this fall!
Life Drawing/Painting Drop - In: Thursdays, Starting September 12th (7:00 PM - 9:00 PM) Originally directed by the late artist Bill Brauer, this class offers a welcoming environment for artists of all levels to practice figure drawing or painting with a live, nude model. Please note that no instruction is provided.
The Grand Tour and American Art: Tuesdays, September 10th - October 1st (6:00pm - 8:00pm) This art history course will examine the history of the European Grand Tour and its influences on American art and architecture, including in the work of Vermont natives T.W. Wood, Truman Seymour, and William Rutherford Mead.
Drawing for All Levels: Mondays, September 9th - September 30th (6:00 PM - 8:00 PM) With minimal materials, students will hone their drawing skills through a series of demonstrations and exercises. We'll practice contour drawing, still lifes, and landscapes. Discover the calming quality of drawing and the surprising effects one can get with just a pencil.
Still Life in Pastel: Tuesdays, September 10th - October 1st (6:00 PM - 8:00 PM) This class is designed for beginners as well as those who have some experience. Students will be introduced to the materials used in pastel work, and discuss the elements of designing a painting. Create beautiful pastel still lives in a positive studio environment!
Our classes are taught by talented arts instructors who create supportive environments for students of all abilities. We offer scholarships and payment plans for all of our classes. Open to students age 16 and up
