Secondhand Prose

Secondhand Prose is a used bookstore operated by the Friends of the Saint Johnsbury Athenaeum. All of the books on our shelves are donated by the community and the store is staffed by volunteers. Every purchase is priced by the buyer, and our income supports programming at the library. Community members donate the books, you name the price, we pass on the funds to the Athenaeum.

Book donations are accepted during store hours, 11-3 Mon-Sat, EXCEPT during the first 7 days of every month, when we accept no books so we can get caught up with your generosity.
