SLPA is a volunteer-run conservation organization promoting responsible use and care of big and little Salem Lakes in Derby/Morgan. A public boat access greeter/boat inspection & education station; vendor and volunteer milfoil management, in addition yearly e coli and water clarity testing. We also keep an eye on cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) outbreaks and report occurrences to health officials when possible. SLPA encourages sound environmental practices and reports infractions known to us to state and local authorities.
