Rev George L Fox Memorial Chapel

Dedicated to honoring the legacy of Rev. George L Fox, a true Vermont and American hero. As a non-denominational house of worship and historical Fox family museum, our primary goal is to raise awareness of Rev. Fox's incredible contributions and to restore and maintain the memorial in his honor. Rev. George L Fox was a man of unwavering faith and courage. He served as a military chaplain during World War II and was one of the four chaplains aboard the USAT Dorchester when it was torpedoed by a German U-boat in 1943. In the face of imminent danger, Rev. Fox and the other chaplains selflessly gave up their life jackets to save others, choosing to go down with the ship. Their sacrifice and bravery continue to inspire generations.To honor Rev. Fox's legacy, we have created a memorial that not only pays tribute to his heroic actions but also serves as a place of worship and reflection.
