To the voters of Bolton, Buels Gorge, Huntington and Waterbury; I'm running to represent you in the House of Representatives. Who you vote for in this election matters for a lot of reasons, and here's the big one: One of the first laws the people you elect today will vote in January is whether or not to impose new carbon taxes on home heating fuels (oil, propane, natural gas and kerosene) as well as on gasoline and diesel motor fuels.

I will vote NO to increasing your costs to heat your homes and to drive your vehicles. Vermonters are already struggling...for legislators to be considering making matters worse by slapping new, exorbitant taxes on these is nothing short of heartless. Note: Just last spring, as prices for heating and motor fuels were skyrocketing, both of our incumbent Representatives voted TWICE to impose new taxes/fees on home heating fuels; once to pass the bill (H.715) and a second time to override Governor Scott's veto of the dreaded carbon tax. Thankfully, one Democrat switched his vote at the last minute, and the Governor's veto was sustained -- by just one vote! So, never let anyone tell you that one vote doesn't count. It could be your vote in this election that can make all the difference.

Rest assured in knowing if you elect me to represent you, I will always be looking out for your best interests, because like you, I am hard-working and contribute to my community. As a single mom, and a small business owner, I am asking for your vote. Remember: Absentee ballots are on their way whether you asked for them or not, so be on the look-out! If you vote at the polls on November 8th--bring your absentee ballot with you.

Thank-you!
