The 2025 Young Ambassadors Program – East Asia & Pacific (YA-EAP) will bring 38 young leaders, along with 6 adult chaperones, to the United States this Spring to learn about youth leadership, conflict resolution and environmental sustainability. The program will enable participants from Burma, the Philippines, and several Pacific Island nations to gather resources and learn skills to enrich their home communities.

The Vermont portion of the exchange is tentatively scheduled to take place from April 19 - May 6. We're hoping that host families could commit to hosting for either half the program, or the full time, but if you can only host a few days, that still might be useful.

Host families' responsibilities include minimal transportation to centralized pick-up and drop-off locations on weekdays. The group will be doing activities with PH Staff from around 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday, so hosting times are mainly evenings and weekends.

Hosts will provide breakfast and dinner on weekdays and allow visitors to participate in your family's weekend activities (including all meals).

Families would host at least two boys or two girls. Young participants must stay with at least one other student of the same gender. This is to make the visitors feel more comfortable in a new place that's very different from their home. Each visitor needs their own bed, although they can share a bedroom.

However, if you only have one bed or would prefer to host an adult participant, they can stay on their own.

All host families will have to pass a background check and a brief interview.
