Primary Responsibilities:
Develop age-appropriate lessons and activities that promote and support the building of social skills, practical capabilities and self-esteem. Implement, plan, and teach Abeka Curriculum. Create and execute engaging activities both indoors and outdoors. Collaborate with assistant teachers to supervise, guide and encourage children's learning and development. Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure their safety at all times. Communicate with parents regularly on their child's day to day progress
Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards Manage classroom and children transitions. Comply with all regulations set forth by the state of Vermont for Licensed Child Care Centers
Desired Credentials: Our ideal candidate will be knowledgeable and experienced in the early childhood field as well as child-focused, creative, and compassionate! 1-2 years of relevant childcare experience (preferably with children under age 5) Associate Degree with a major in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education preferred. Minimum of a Child Development Associate Certificate or currently enrolled in a Child Development program.
Skills: good communication skills and interpersonal skills, organized and ability to multitask, patient and kind, Willing to accept feedback and must be a team player.
Training - prior to beginning you must complete three online training courses: CPR/First Aid, Protecting Vermont's Children, Reporting Abuse and Neglect and Vermont Orientation Training. There is an additional 15 hours of training required annually.
