Flutist and teacher of flute. I hold a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Flute Pedagogy. Inspired by the teachings of Orff, Dalcroze, and Kodaly, I teach students of all levels ages 4 and up. I have been teaching for over 10 years in northern Virginia (NoVA) and recently moved to Barre, VT. My students are aged 4-young at heart being taught in-person (socially distanced and with precautions) as well as online from our respective homes. We do recitals about twice a year, the past few have been recorded on CDs for each student due to COVID restrictions. I love teaching students of all ages, as well as other flutes like piccolo and low flutes. I am also a performer, ask about weddings or other services. If you are interested in lessons or hiring me for a performance, please email me at flutelarissa@gmail.com.

Did you know that I don't just teach flute, but I also teach pre-band instruments too? Using the Dood and Toot, as well as games, I teach students the fundamentals of music and playing an instrument through fun and interactive lessons. These lessons are geared toward students ages 4 and up. The instruments used are smaller and lighter than regular band instruments and activities are geared toward the age and interests of the students. First trial lessons are always free! Join me in fostering a love of music for the next generation!
