Our Adult Shelter, the Waystation, is open from 6:00pm - 8:00am, 365 nights a year for individual adults seeking a safe place to sleep. Our team members provide the critical service of welcoming the guests, ensuring they have everything they need for the night including clean linens, access to showers, laundry, etc. and monitoring the shelter to ensure it's safe and secure for guests and staff.
Our Family Shelter is staffed 24/7, 365 days of the year. Our evening and overnight team members assist families with accessing supports, enforcing program expectations such as quiet hours, and addressing needs as they arise, ultimately ensuring the shelter is safe and secure for guests and staff. The overnight Family Shelter Support position includes asleep hours, in which the team member can choose to sleep in the provided space and be on call for support.
We are seeking individuals who are looking for an opportunity to give back to their community in a meaningful way, want to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, and align with our values. At COTS we believe: In the value and dignity of every human life; that housing is a fundamental human right; and that emergency shelter is not the solution to homelessness.
Our Shelter Support roles start at $19/hour for per diem and $20/hour for regular team members. We also offer a $2.00/hour Overnight Premium for awake hours worked between 12:00am - 8:00am.
If you want to learn more about working with COTS you can review our Careers page, http://www.cotsonline.org/careers. To apply email your resume and a cover letter to jobs@cotsonline.org.
