The average American tosses out 4.4 pounds of waste every day. That means that, right here in Chittenden County, Vermont, we toss out around 263,020,825 pounds of waste every year. Most of that goes into the ground or gets burned, contributing to the climate crisis.

And a lot of that waste we throw out is stuff that we think we're recycling, like plastic bottles. The demand for recycled plastic is so low that most plastic bottles - more than 90% of all recycled plastics - end up in landfills.

Chandler's is something different. We offer ecologically-friendly household cleaners, soaps, and detergents by the ounce. You bring your own containers and fill them, then pay for what you've got (minus the weight of the container, of course). We also offer a bunch of other products - from kitchen goods to travel gear - all designed to reduce waste.
