Come to the Capital City Grange Hall on Rt. 12, and join us for an outdoor community Sing-Along from 5:00 to 6:00 this Saturday! Our Grange musician, Matt Nunnelly, is a great accompanist and song leader. We will no doubt do a wide variety of songs, from folk-song standards, to Yellow Submarine, to show tunes....and many others. If you have a favorite song to share, please email Matt with the song, sending along the music and lyrics if you have them. His email address is: mattkatvt@gmail.com. Matt will do his best to be ready to do requests like this, especially if you get the info to him soon!
We plan to have the singing outdoors, with lots of fresh air for health and safety, so we'll certainly have room for everyone! And please follow the advice of the Scoutmaster for one of my kids: you don't have to sing good, you can just sing LOUD!
After the Sing-Along, we'll go to the renovated Lower Level for a community potluck dinner, with our usual wide variety of soups/salads/main dishes/desserts/beverages--bring whatever you would like to share! We always have a bunch of interesting and tasty choices. We'll be using the vintage tableware from the Grange's well-stocked cabinets--no paper plates! We do ask that only vaccinated folks come to the potluck, since we won't be wearing masks while we eat!
All of these events are free and open to the public! If you haven't had a chance to visit the Grange, this is a fun way to check it out. We are an all-volunteer, community service organization, in Berlin since 1953. Remember, we offer free use of the Hall to Berlin residents, and Berlin-based non-profit organizations, as long as the Hall is not previously booked for the time you want. Check our website to see what's happening: http://www.capitalcitygrange.org/events, and look at lots of photos and other info there too. Feel free to contact me (Tim Swartz)with questions: grangepresident@capitalcitygrange.org
The Kids Trade and Play is one of many great events happening on Saturday, May 14th.
