Please help spread the word - Farm Camp has a few openings for this summer - including partial scholarships.
July 18-22, August 1-5, and August 15-19. Ages 5-6, 7-10 and 11-14.
Scholarships have traditionally been offered out through school counselors and service organizations, but since Covid we've been laying low. If you or a family you know takes your laundry to a laundromat, or has limited cooking access, or no space to garden or build forts, and a child who'd love to grow and cook - you qualify!
And we'd love to welcome a farm or education intern or an experienced educator for Professional Development. Do you know someone with a strong interest in youth empowerment, wanting to expand their facilitation toolbox? Expand your skills and refresh your practice with a 30+ year science teacher and teacher coach, while staying in a tiny cabin on a beautiful farm and forest.
Prospectuses share a love of hard work, laughter, reflective practice and a desire to make the world (and classroom) a better place by helping young people connect to farm food, seasonal cycles, and each other. Preference to those available for all three weeks, but educators might want to do just two weeks - one of preparation, revitalization and escape and one working with children.
We would welcome the chance to add to our staff's diversity of life experiences and perspectives in all ways. Please share, cross post to help this mission of a more just, joyful and sustainable community.
Beautiful plants grown with care from seed here at 799 Upper Dummerston Road in Brattleboro. From broccoli and cucumbers to tomatoes and zucchini, and much between. Flowers from Asclepius for butterflies, cosmos and dahlias (oh! Dahlias!) to salpiglossis, snapdragons and zinnias. Please don't bring disease into our neighborhoods with plants from other regions pulled off trucks and plopped on shelves and tables. Buy Local hardened off plants from us or others, and plant late in the day for less shock. Self-serve or we love to help! Pull in, park, wander & enjoy the view, and please help spread the word. Thank you.
