Resistance to the Dakota Access Pipeline (#NoDAPL) has gotten global attention. But do you know about our own growing movement to stop construction of the Vermont Gas Systems pipeline, which is owned by Gaz Metro of Canada, and transports fracked gas from Alberta? New fossil fuel infrastructure would lock us in to extreme energy extraction for decades. "Natural" gas (which is extracted by fracking) is touted as a "bridge" to renewables. But a decades-long fossil fuel bridge would bring us to more extreme climate events rather than to a just, sustainable world.
