South Hero Historical Society Announces its Fourth Annual Meeting Oct 14th 7PM Folsom School
We would like to invite you to our Fourth Annual South Hero Historical Society Meeting on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 at the Folsom School starting at 7:00 pm. It is called “Down Memory Lane” and will feature photos from South Hero’s Past and stories to go with them that haven’t been told yet! Featuring Joyce Blow, Malcolm Allen and Guy Winch. Topics include the Creamery, The IGA-Tressler’s Store, local blacksmiths, The South Hero Inn, the train station ticket master and more! If you have an old photo that inspires a favorite story please feel free to bring it and share!!
The SHHS has been in existence since Oct.18, 2012. We have enjoyed four years of programs thanks to the wonderful community members who have come forward to share their stories. We’ve had 31 programs videoed and published so far and each one can be found on a DVD in the library at Folsom School or on our website. www.southherohistoricalsociety.com We hope to continue to offer programs focused on South Hero history and would welcome suggestions.
We will also be voting on SHHS positions for Vice-President and Secretary for two year terms and a trustee for a three year term. It’s important that our board continues to change and have new members to promote diversity and a variety of opinions. Join us to celebrate our past successes and the start of our fifth year! We will have refreshments including local pies/donuts and cider!
