Fight for $15 Burlington Kick-Off Meeting

Past event

Join the Fight for Fifteen!

Vermont is a progressive state in many arenas. However, the state’s minimum wage does not come anywhere near a livable wage. Existing Vermont legislation mandating an increase to only $10.50 in 2018 leaves us behind states and cities, such as New York, California, and Seattle, which have committed to moving to a $15 per hour minimum. That’s far below what Vermonters need!

Fight for Fifteen is an emerging Burlington-based coalition, working with the Vermont Raise the Wage Coalition, a statewide initiative, striving to move Vermont to $15 per hour minimum wage. We intend to generate a petition in Burlington that directs our Representatives in Montpelier to support legislation in 2017. Join us at our next meeting as we lay the groundwork for our petition campaign!

Our next meeting is October 12th from 6:00-7:30pm at the Fletcher Free Library (in the Community Room) in Burlington. Pizza will be provided for attendees. Please share this post widely and for further questions, contact Annie Wohland at Awohland2000@yahoo.com
