The Central Vermont chapter of OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) offers weekly talks on a variety of topics. Last week's talk was on the political campaigns of the upcoming election. This week's talk will be about ''Mysteries: Why We Read 'Em and Who We Ought to Read.'' The presenter will be Librarian/Bookseller George Spaulding. He will talk about why detective fiction has been a favorite for over 175 years. He'll talk about why we love various authors and characters, and maybe suggest some new favorites.
