Please be invited to a potluck dinner and to check out this new documentary about brave people who are helping their Syrian neighbors survive the near-constant bombardment. We'll also do a pass-the-hat (or pass-the-smart-phone) fund raiser for SAMS (Syrian American Medical Service), an organization supporting the medical personnel still at work there.
Here's a link to an NPR piece about the young photojournalist who made the documentary: http://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2016/09/26/495005538/young-syrian-with-a-d ream-risks-his-life-to-film-new-netflix-doc
And if you're moved to donate but are unable to be there on 10/8, here's the link to the SAMS donation page: https://www.sams-usa.net/foundation/index.php/how-you-can-help/donate
