Wave of Light: Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness

The International Wave of Light –
Please join us at 6:30 for a candlelight vigil on October 15th, at Sand Hill Park in Essex Center, in observance of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, a day to remember all the babies gone too soon from miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss. We will light at candles at 7:00 p.m. and leave them burning for one hour, joining others around the world for the International Wave of Light. An act that will ensure that regardless of where one is in the world, at 7:00 p.m. there will be a continuous wave of light representing the love we have for these babies.

Our daughter and son-in-law, Kati and Troy experienced the pain and heartache of losing a child when their daughter, Eloise Margaret Smith was born still on June 25, 2015 at week 34 +2. Since that day, they have become part of the remarkable group of parents who have survived the loss of a child. We have come to know far too many families who have experienced this same loss and Kati wanted to offer an opportunity for families, friends and community to come together, saying, "I am so excited to connect with these amazing families who remember their babies with love each and every day, whether these children were born days, weeks, months or many, many years ago. Our babies were born silent but our love for them will always be anything but!"

If you, a member of your family or friend have experienced miscarriage, still birth or loss of an infant, we invite you to join our group for this brief but meaningful remembrance. Candles and light refreshments will be provided.
