This month's artist/exhibitor, Richard Bergeron, is a self-taught, detailed landscape and portrait artist who uses primarily oil and pastel chalk. He has constructed most of his frames over the years with wood, plaster and other materials. “When viewing my paintings, I hope that a person can imagine being a part of what they’re looking at… to be able to place themselves into the landscape.”
Born in Berlin, NH in 1925, he is from a family of 14. In 1943 he enlisted into the Navy as a merchant marine, and served in WWII until 1945. Richard has 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He has been creating artwork all of his life, and is still creating pieces at age 90.
