If you're wondering how landfill bans on recyclables, food scraps and other items affect your business, or you'd like to learn more about how to deal with hard to recycle materials at your business and would like some tips for reducing waste, join us on October 12 at 6:00 pm at the Hardwick Municipal Building. The Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District and the Heart of Vermont Chamber of Commerce are offering a free training for local businesses about waste reduction and your roles and responsibilities under Vermont's Universal Recycling Law, Act 148.

We will be covering the following topics with plenty of time for Q&A:
- What is Act 148, and when do landfill bans come into play?
- What parts of Act 148 are different for businesses and residents?
- What do businesses need to know about recycling, food scrap management, hazardous wastes, and other materials such as disposal of paint, batteries, fluorescent bulbs or electronic waste?
- Tips for making recycling and food scrap diversion convenient at your business.
- Tips for reducing waste.
- Tell us about your business's challenges with the state's Universal Recycling Law.

We look forward to seeing you - business owners, managers & employees are welcome - enjoy free refreshments, and bring your questions!
