Free Art Class

The Community Sign Project is underway this Fall and The Art House will begin offering free art classes to engage the Craftsbury community about road safety! The goal for these classes will be to get the community interested and start a conversation about how to make Craftsbury roads a safer place to walk, bike and drive. We’ll be focusing on safety and wellness through art, collecting any drawings produced by the end of class to unveil them all for a project presentation at the Town Meeting in March. The first of these many classes will be held at the Craftsbury Public Library on October 15th and 22nd from 10am to noon. All are welcome!

The project will address the needs of the community, and layout the plans for multiple publicly accessible art courses that will be held throughout the area (at the Craftsbury Public Library, the Craftsbury Community Care Center, The Outdoor Center, Sterling College and Craftsbury Academy). These courses are designed to allow discussions of different perspectives about where the safest areas of Craftsbury are and how to improve any dangerous areas whether they are in East Craftsbury, The Common, The Village, or Mill Village. These courses will be free to the public and will encourage as many designs and ideas for new safety measures; as an example “Children at Play” signs to be set up around The Common! We at The Art House need your help, these classes are for all ages so bring your family out to the library and join us! Hope to see you there!
