Charity Bottle Drive for Local Family

When Jodie Miller was pregnant, she found out that her soon to be born second child had a condition called XLR. Although this condition is not cancer, it is similar in many, many ways. This is a genetic disease that effects the immune system and can trigger different side effects ranging from cancers to rare blood disorders. It is very rare with less than 300 cases in the world. Jodie has known and dealt with XLP her whole life as she lost two brothers to it. In order for Micah to survive past childhood, he will need a bone marrow transplant. There are so many things that factor into this. Jodie and little Micah are at the Boston Children's Hospital where they have been for the past year. Micah has had several very serious complications. There is really no idea as to when they will be able to come home.

Jodie is a nurse and has had to give up her job to stay in Boston with Micah. Her husband, Jamie and older son Noah, are living here in Morrisville trying to maintain a somewhat normal routine for young Noah and keep the house going. They need our help. There are so many costs associated with what they are going through including Jodie not working, eating at the hospital for every meal and gas traveling when they can. This is a really difficult situation and I hope you all can help.

I will have my race car hauler at the Cupboard Deli in Jeffersonville this coming Saturday, October 8th, from 8am to 10am. Please help me fill my hauler with bottles and cans so that we can send Jodie and her family a donation to help them with some of these expenses. Community makes a difference and this is a really easy way to help a family in need.

For more information or for updates from Jodie, please go to the Team Micah Facebook page. Jodie keeps us updated regularly. Below is the link.
