The official dedication of the Danby-Mt Tabor Veterans Memorial will be held on Sunday, Oct 16 at 2 pm at the Memorial site (South Main St & Mt Tabor Ave, Danby). All are invited to attend. While we will not have the marble plaza and benches installed, the other components of the memorial will be ready for dedication.

Approximately 100 chairs will be provided on a first come basis. You may wish to bring folding chairs to ensure you have seating.

Streets Closures: Noon to 4 pm. Please be aware that South Main St (from Brook Rd to Depot St) and Mt Tabor Ave (from Rte 7 to South Main St) will be closed to allow set up and take down after the ceremony. Those needing handicap accessibility may enter South Main St at Depot St for handicap parking on a portion of South Main St.

The ceremony will include the American Legion Band of Brattleboro, an address by Kyle Aines (served two stints in Iraq), a special tribute to Harvey Howard -- and more. Come help recognize and honor over 700 of our own veterans who served during wartime.

Volunteers are needed to help set up and take down chairs and to direct traffic at the street closure points. Please contact Tim Cameron at 293-9400 to volunteer.
