A "Way of Council Training" is being offered by the Marlboro College Center for New Leadership, co-led by Kirstin Edelglass and Paul LeVasseur. The workshop will meet on both October 15 & 29 (two parts of a single training) at the Marlboro Graduate Center in Brattleboro.

Council is a dialogic process that stimulates compassionate understanding, deeper self-awareness, community building, collective decision-making, conflict transformation, and shared leadership. It is used worldwide in a variety of contexts including public schools, universities, prisons, social service agencies, faith-based communities, families, wilderness programs, non-profit organizations, and businesses.

Students will gain experience facilitating various forms of council both in and out of class and will look at ways they can integrate this “circle process” into the communities where they work and live.

The Way of Council Training is appropriate for anyone who facilitates groups. The course is open to the public, as well as to undergraduate and graduate students, with the option of receiving college credit from Marlboro College. The course meets the requirements for the “Level 1 Council Training” offered by the Center for Council.
