The Driveway Encroachment Prohibition was adopted by the Public Works Commission on September 21st 2016 and will take effect on October 19th 2016. This prohibition will make it a ticket-able offense to park within two feet of all driveways in Burlington. A blocked or encroached driveway often makes it difficult or impossible to either enter or exit, inhibits access to homes, or traps residents on their property. This prohibition was sought by the Department of Public Works in response to numerous repeated complaints from the public. This is a perennial issue that will not be assuaged without this new prohibition.
It is our goal that everyone living, working or attending school in Burlington will learn to utilize on-street parking efficiently without adversely affecting others
