Please join us for the final of three guided walks on Williston’s primitive trails. Williston Conservation Planner Melinda Scott and Chittenden County Forester Ethan Tapper will lead a walk on the Mud Pond Country Park trail, located off South Road.
Mountain bikers, hikers, cross-country skiers, and nature enthusiasts have for years enjoyed the Mud Pond Country Park trails. During the walk, we’ll view landscape features that provide clues of centuries-old human activity, learn about how the forest has responded and how it might evolve in the future.
The management plan for the Mud Pond Country Park is currently being updated, and this walk will provide you with an opportunity both to learn more about its natural history and to contribute your input into the park’s future management.
We'll meet at the Mud Pond Conservation Area parking lot. Travel south on South Rd for approximately 2 miles and take a right onto Mud Pond Rd. Immediately to your right is a small parking area. Please do not park on South Rd. For more information or to RSVP, contact Conservation Planner Melinda Scott at mscott@willistonvt.org.
