Wheels for Warmth, now in its ninth year, is an initiative through which Vermonters donate tires they no longer need. The tires that meet state inspection standards are offered for resale at a maximum of $25 apiece, with all proceeds benefiting heating fuel assistance programs. The tires that are not deemed safe are recycled. The 2013 Wheels for Warmth tire sale will take place at DuBois Construction in Montpelier on Saturday, Oct. 26.
