Mindful Monday* Movie Night presents "Open Sesame: The Story of Seeds" at the Brattleboro Food Co-op Community Room (entrance at 7 Canal St).
One of the world’s most precious resources is at risk. This timely and emotionally moving documentary illuminates what is at stake and what can be done to protect the source of nearly all our food: SEEDS. Seeds are as essential to life as the air we breathe or water we drink…but given far less attention.
In this film you will meet a diverse range of individuals whose lives center around seeds. Farmers. Renegade gardeners. Passionate seed savers. Artists. Seed activists. This film tells the story of seeds by following their challenges and triumphs as they work to save this precious resource.
It’s not too late…yet.
Before the screening we will share a PlantPure (whole food plant-based) potluck dinner (optional). Please bring a fully plant-based dish to share (no meat, fish, dairy, eggs or honey). If you are veg curious and feel a bit daunted by preparing a PlantPure dish, feel free to bring some fruit, or hummus and chips or crudités, or something vegan from the deli. If possible, bring a place setting so that we generate less waste, along with a friend or two! Attend the screening and/or the potluck—your choice!
Optional potluck at 5:15pm. Film begins at 6pm. Suggested donation for film to offset licensing fees - $5. Registration required – contact shareholder services at 802-257-0236 x821.
