To kick off the Flying Pig's 20th anniversary, we have some great events coming up next week for kids and younger teens:
-- MONDAY, OCT. 3 at 4 pm -- SOMAN CHAINANI at the Flying Pig
The author of the New York Times #1 bestselling series, School for Good and Evil, talks to kids about his books, including the recent release, THE EVER NEVER HANDBOOK. Perfect for ages 10-14, grades 4-8.
-- TUESDAY, OCT. 4 at 4 pm -- Launch Party for BRAVE LITTLE FINN with JENNIFER & JOHN CHURCHMAN at Shelburne Town Hall
The sequel to the Sheepover (the NY Times bestselling book by Essex photographer, author and farmers John and Jennifer Churchman) releases on Tuesday, and we are hosting the Churchmans for their launch party! All ages.
-- SATURDAY, OCT. 8 at 11 am -- CHRISTOPHER and ANIKA DENISE at the Flying Pig Bookstore in Shelburne
Award-winning illustrator and author lead story hour in celebration of their new books, MONSTER TRUCKS and LUCY'S LOVEY. Lucy's Lovey is about a preschooler's well-loved (and therefore kinda smelly) favorite doll. Monster Trucks is about alligators. Kidding! It's a perfect Halloween read about a monster truck race on a spooky racetrack. Ages 2-7.
-- SATURDAY, OCT. 8 at 4 pm -- CHRIS TEBBETTS & "MIDDLE SCHOOL: THE WORST YEARS OF MY LIFE" movie at the Palace 9 Cinemas in South Burlington
Hinesburg resident Chris Tebbetts is also the co-author with James Patterson of several books in the MIDDLE SCHOOL book series. Chris will hold a Q&A at PALACE 9 CINEMAS after the showing of "Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life" during its opening weekend! He’ll answer questions about the differences between the movie and the books, what it’s like to co-write books with James Patterson, and more.
Movie start time: 4 pm - tickets for the movie are handled by Palace 9. Ages 9-14.
