What: Community Values Mapping
Where: Cornwall School
When: Wednesday, October 12, 2016, 7-9:15 PM
Who: All Cornwall residents
Please join members of the Planning Commission, Conservation Commission, and educators and students from the Cornwall School for the Community Values Mapping Workshop on October 12th. A unique collaboration of students, citizens, and town officials, it offers residents an opportunity to share with others what they most value about living in Cornwall.
Jens Hilke, Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife, will facilitate the October 12th meeting. He has led similar forums in many towns throughout the state. K-6th grade students will participate in a similar workshop at the School during the previous week.
In the workshop, participants will divide into small discussion groups; each group’s comments will be recorded on a large map of the town. A range of important community topics such as scenic views, recreation, farming, development, and conservation will be discussed. The information gathered will be compiled subsequently into a summary map and shared with the town to help guide future town planning.
For the project to be most useful, wide participation by all parts of our community is key. For more information, please visit the link below or email me directly. We hope to see you on October 12!
