As a special welcome to Duxbury, the Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District is holding a Paint, Batteries & Fluorescent Bulb collection at the Duxbury Town Garage this Saturday, October 1, from 9 am - 1 pm. This event is open to residents of the CVSWMD and is free of charge.

CVSWMD also collects these materials and up to three dozen other hard-to-recycle materials year-round at our Additional Recyclables Collection Center (ARCC) at 540 North Main Street in Barre - so if you miss this collection, come see us at the ARCC any Mon/Wed/Fri noon - 6 pm. IMPORTANT NOTE: The Mad River Alliance is holding a household hazardous waste (HHW) collection on this same day as our Paint, Batteries & Bulbs collection. Because Duxbury joined the CVSWMD in the middle of the collection season, the Mad River Alliance collection is NOT open to Duxbury residents -- so please be sure to come see us at the DUXBURY TOWN GARAGE with your paint, batteries or fluorescent bulbs this Saturday.

Please also note that paint, batteries & fluorescent bulbs are NOT Household Hazardous Waste (HHW). Paint, batteries & fluorescent bulbs are the only materials we are collecting on Saturday, but ... we are holding another collection the following week, on Saturday Oct 8, of HHW only. All CVSWMD residents, including Duxbury, are welcome to attend our HHW collection in Montpelier on Oct 8, at the Vermont Department of Labor.
