As part of the Saxon Hill rezoning proposal, the public is invited to visit the site on Saturday, October 19. Driving tours will leave from the end of Thompson Drive at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., with each tour lasting approximately two hours.

The rezoning proposal affects a large portion of land in the southeast part of Essex. The Resource Preservation District-Industrial (RPD-I) zoning district and an adjacent property, the so-called Kimo Property, would form the Saxon Hill (SH) zoning district. The SH district would contain three subzones: Industrial (I1), Medium Density Residential (R2), and Open Recreation (O2). The O2 area would consist of approximately 300 acres of town-owned park land.

Information about the rezoning proposal is available online: http://www.essex.org/index.asp?Type=B_BASIC&SEC={67CB27F8-3726-4F4E-B947-69F211520E25}
