Granite City Grocery/A Place at the Table Oct. 22

In honor of Co-op Month (October), Granite City Grocery is hosting a special free dinner, film screening, and post-film discussion of the critically acclaimed documentary about hunger in America called A Place At The Table on Tuesday, October 22nd from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Old Labor Hall.

Our hope for this event: This film is energizing and enraging at the same time; and it's a transformative experience well worth having together with friends, neighbors, and community members. With this film, we hope to spark community conversations about hunger and obesity in our community. As part of the post-film discussion, we plan to offer a menu of action steps that participants can take (individually and/or in groups) to effect change. In particular, while this event is free and open to the public, we are requesting donations at the door for CVCAC's food shelf. We will also use the event as a call to action to encourage community members to take the 3Squares VT challenge the week prior to Thanksgiving.
