Fall Trail Race Sunday, Oct. 27

Hi Neighbors,

I just wanted to remind everyone the Freaky 5K trail race is right around the corner! Hosted by the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps, this race benefits vital environmental conservation work and youth employment and education. Please register today!

This is a timed race with prizes. As a Halloween themed event, costumes encouraged - your creative and daring wardrobe could get you a great prize as well!

The Second Annual "Freaky 5K Trail Race" will be held on Sunday, October 27th at 10:00 AM, at the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps in Richmond. This is the beautiful red Monitor Barn on Route 2, just east of Richmond village. The race will take you through conserved farmland and the woods behind the barns.

Last year was the event’s inaugural year – 112 runners competed and set the bar high. The time to beat this year is 21:32; and the costume to out-do is a one-armed lumberjack with a chainsaw!

Registration is $35 ($25 for students and VYCC alumni). This gets you a bib, goodie bag, fleece headband, and refreshments afterwards: Skinny Pancake will be serving up delicious crepes!

Proceeds support VYCC programs. This is a great way to celebrate the VYCC – run trails built by past Corps Members while enabling more youth to participate in coming years.

Registration is open. Additional information and registration is available online at www.vycc.org/5K.

There are also volunteer opportunities. For more information, please contact me.

I hope you will spread the word to your friends, neighbors, and family.

Thank you.
