Champlain College Rainbow Crosswalk Painting & Celebration
Wednesday, September 28
South Willard Street at Perry Hall Promenade (just south of Maple Street)
Kick-Off Remarks: 10:00 AM
Painting and Celebration: 10:30 AM until completion

Champlain College extends an invitation to all neighbors to kick-off our painting of a rainbow crosswalk on South Willard Street. The crosswalk will help make the busy crosswalk safer for students and drivers and be a visible symbol of Champlain's efforts to build an inclusive environment on campus.

The kick-off will include remarks by Mayor Miro Weinberger, Champlain College President Don Laackman, and Champlain’s Student Government Association President Logan Rice. We will then be painting and “tabling” near the crosswalk with ribbons, snacks, and materials from on-campus and local organizations.

We welcome neighbors to swing by for the kick-off remarks and at any point throughout the day to see the progress and celebrate this new addition to Champlain College, our neighborhood, and Burlington!

Please note that while the painting is taking place (between 10:00 AM and approximately 2:00 PM), South Willard Street will be limited to one lane. Green Mountain Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control.

This initiative is made possible by Champlain College's Student Government Association (SGA) and other members of the Champlain Community. For more information, contact syusen@champlain.edu.
