The Habitat Restoration Crew with the Vermont Department of Forest, Parks and Recreation would like to invite you to volunteer with us on September 24th, 2016: National Public Lands Day. Coordinated by the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), National Public Lands Day is the largest single-day volunteer effort for public lands in the nation and is an opportunity for people to connect with and give back to the public lands in their community.
This year, the Habitat Restoration Crew is hosting a volunteer event at Lake St Catherine State Park removing invasive species from the state park. The event is from 10 am to 2 pm and all are welcome to participate. We will learn about invasive species and get our hands dirty pulling invasives to protect the health of the state park. Please wear long pants and close-toed shoes.
If you or someone you know is interested in participating in the largest national single-day volunteer effort for public lands, please contact Liz Bourguet at ANR.FPRWeedVolunteers@vermont.gov or at (802) 377-2615. Together we can make a real difference on our state lands!
