The Mount Mansfield school board will meet on Monday September 19th at 6:30 PM Smilie Memorial School in Bolton. A tour of the facilities will begin at 6 PM. The board plans to meet in each town at least once per year, and offer a tour of each building once per year as well. The board will hear community comments, reports from the student representatives, the Principal, and the Superintendent, and committees.

The Finance Committee has begun work on the 2017-18 budget and has a meeting on September 22nd. The Negotiations Committee is preparing to work on new agreements with teachers and support staff and has a meeting planned for September 29th. The Community Engagement committee is working on a plan to bring to the full board in October, and has a meeting scheduled for September 21st.

Throughout this school year, we will be seeking input to refine our “Ends” policy -- goals for our schools. We will likely begin with surveys and then have conversations with students, teachers, select boards, business groups, senior centers, etc. to help us articulate our vision for education.

Some of our websites were updated over the summer, and others will see improvements over the next several months. www.cesu.org has a wealth of information including links for each school, bus and school schedules, lunch menus, board agendas, minutes, and videos, and more.

In October we will vary from our regular meeting schedule, and be in the Jericho Elementary School on October 10th, and Camels Hump Middle School on October 24th.

The Mount Mansfield Modified Union School Board and Chittenden East Supervisory Union Governing Board conventionally have joint meetings, generally the first and third Mondays of each month. MMMUSD includes Mount Mansfield Union High, Browns River Middle, Camel’s Hump Middle, Jericho Elementary, Richmond Elementary, Smilie Memorial (Bolton), Underhill Central, and Underhill I.D. schools. CESU includes Special Education, Transportation, and Central Office for both MMMUSD and the Huntington elementary school. The Brewster Pierce Memorial School Board (Huntington) meets separately.
