What is MOPS/MomsNext anyway?
You may have heard that MOPS/MomsNext will be meeting in the Library at Thatcher Brook Primary School the first & third Thursdays with a kickoff meeting on September 22nd at 6:30pm. You may also be wondering exactly what MOPS/MomsNext is! MOPS = Mothers of Preschoolers and MomsNext = Moms of school-aged kids. We are a combined group of moms from pregnancy to graduation that meet to support one another throughout the school year.
Here is a little more about us…..
Welcoming to all Women: We’ve all been placed in this time and place in history, as the tribe of women who are raising the world. The beauty of it is that we don’t all have to agree with one another, but everyone is in, and we all need each other. MOPS International is faith based but you do not need to be a “churchgoer” or from a specific church to join us. We want all moms to come, regardless.
Honest Conversation: Real talk is liberating. It frees us from assumptions that we are alone in our struggles. We value taking a risk and sharing our stories in order to heal someone else from their isolation.
Relevant Teaching: What we provide is mommy friends who get you, hope-filled insight, and speakers who know we’ve only had three hours of uninterrupted sleep last night so they better keep it interesting.
Mentoring: Sometimes we need a wise woman who has been there and done that to share their sage advice and willing ears.
Creative Activities: We occasionally like to have something “pinteresty” to make at our meetings.
Leadership Development: We want to help you gain the confidence to use your voice to change your world.
Childcare: Our MOPPETS volunteers provide a safe, fun, caring environment for your kiddos that they will love going back to.
