To wrap up the end of the season I would personally like to thank all those in the community that have help support efforts in the first season for Integrity Farm. The mission of the farm is to be a veteran operated, community orientated farm. To stay true to this mission statement there will be a FREE CHICKEN BBQ/POTLUCK at Integrity Farm located at 22 Pearl St in Grand Isle SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 24 from 2 p.m. - ? Looking for anyone interested in performing.

This project could not have begun without the help of friends, family and community. I would like to thank all my neighbors for welcoming the farm to the neighborhood. Chad and Cyndi Pepin have been the biggest supporters of the Integrity Farm project. They have been entirely hospitable, loving, understanding and beyond the definition of neighborly. Thanks to you and your family for everything. Words cannot express enough how grateful I am for my wonderful new friends and neighbors, including Bob Davis and David and Stephanie McDermitt. I look forward to meeting the rest of the neighbors I haven’t met yet in the near future. I would like to thank Dough Patterson, Dolf Wirsing, Roy Newton, Michael and Donna Sue Shaw, Joe and Julia Smalls, Robin Williams, Danny Watson and Robinson’s Hardware for their help with building projects. Many thanks to partners John Wyckoff and James Hoyt of Three Sheeps to the Wind LLC for their generous donation of haying the fields for us. Integrity Farm would like to recognize the South Hero Land Trust and the Vermont Land Trust for taking an interest in our project.

I am entirely grateful for the generosity of local farms and businesses that helped in donating to the VFW/Island Arts BBQ Barn Dance and all who attended. Blue Heron Farm donated CHICKEN, Canamak Farms donated GRASS-FED BEEF, Darby Farm and Pomykala Farm donated VEGETABLES, Savage Gardens donated EGGS, FLOWERS and tables, Allenholm Farm donated BLUEBERRIES, The Vermont Maple Farm donated SYRUP and Integrity Farm donated MELONS. Thank you to Wally’s Place for the wonderful ROLLS and BURGER BUNS. I would also like to thank for the support from other local farms: Health Hero Farm, South Hero; Dream Walker Farm, Grand Isle; Wild Roots Farm, Bristol and Dear Eddy Farm, Burlington. Show your support for these local farms at the Grand Isle and South Hero Farmers’ Markets.

I sincerely appreciate The South Hero Congregational Church for their donation for seed money this season. I would also like to thank Northstar Co. and Carton Company of Champlain, NY for the use of equipment. Much support has come from The Farmer Veteran Coalition. Thank you for the generous donation made by Latermore’s Pine Ridge , Chazy, NY for assistance with improvements for our fields.

I would especially like to show my appreciation to the VFW Auxiliary for all their hard work. Ethelyn Dubuque and Cathie Merrihew are the unsung heroes of every VFW dinner event. Thank you for all your hard work, we could not do this without you.

I would especially like to state that with out the love and support from my friends and family at Blue Heron Farm this year would be much harder than it was. Adam, Christine, Sadie and Delia thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I believe that actions speak louder than words and want to show my appreciation for all the community support. In doing so Integrity Farm will be throwing a FREE CHICKEN BBQ/POTLUCK Saturday September 24th from noon until whenever. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, friends, family, a potluck item, your own beverage to and enjoy live music. Integrity Farm will be supplying our own chicken as well as two sides. If you play an instrument or have a band come along there will be time for anyone who wants to share to share in. I believe one of the core values to what makes Vermont such a beautiful place is community. So lets all get together and have one big picnic, no cost. For more information email me at IntegrityFarmVT@gmail.om or you can reach me on my cell at (802) 661-8444 Truly, hope to see you there.

Sincerely, Frank Hill.
