The Richford and Montgomery Conservation Commissions are sponsoring this event at the Grange in Montgomery Center. The presenter, Hank Kaestner is a former spice buyer for McCormick Spices and is an accomplished birder. He has traveled to the island of Madagascar over forty times to purchase vanilla and to see the birds there. He will be doing a presentation on Madagascar's unique ecosystem. (The "4 C's" are the Culture, Cultivation [of vanilla and cloves], Conservation of unique flora and fauna, and Cheating [mislabeling of vanilla ice cream]). Free and open to the public.
