A GIFT OF MUSIC is a free concert of music for the piano by Bach, Mozart, Chopin ,Brahms and Liszt.on Sunday, September 18 at 12 noon. The artist is Oscar Rodriquez, classical concert pianist and composer. He is currently an advanced student at the Conservatorio Bruno Maderna, Cesena, Italy, having studied there 7 years.
Born in Campeche Mexico in 1989, he is a permanent resident of the United States, residing in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is a 2007 graduate of Arlington High School. At age 16, he began playing classical music by ear and teaching himself to read music. Oscar was accepted into the conservatory in Italy with a high score on his audition, thanks to several years of intense studies in NYC and with the help of pianist Francesco Attesti, his mentor, and Gwendolyn Tibbals, his coach/manager.

• Performances in Italy: Tuscany, Emiglia-Romagna, Sicily, Rotary in Cortona.
• Performances in USA: Hartford, CT.; Beacon, Fishkill, Pawling, Poughkeepsie, Rhinebeck, Suffern, Wappingers, NY; Sandgate, VT.
• Composing quintet for Metamorphosis 2016, composer’s debut.
• Also composing a set of short piano pieces and chorales; a string quartet.
• Participated in IYAP Masterclass for piano and opera in Tuscany with Maestro Moreno and Dr. Lyman, 2015 and 2016.
• Wrote a church hymn in 2013, collaborating with a Dutchess County poet.
• International Conservatories Orchestra Convention, Cesena, 2013, representing Bruno Maderna.
• License in Music Theory and Solfeggio, 2012.
• 10-day Master Class, Maestro F. Attesti, Monte San Savino, Italy, 2007.
Oscar Rodriguez has an engaging personality, earning him rapport with audiences of all ages.
