Did you know that Vermont is the only state not to have a single football player in the NCAA FBS division*? Did you know that on a Friday night like this one much of the rest of the country will be out supporting their local high school football team?

Mount Abe/Vergennes is playing their first ever home game on a Friday night - tonight at 7pm at Mount Abe. A beautiful night for a game. Come out and support these young men - high school football games should be as busy as the fireworks on the 4th in Bristol. Make it an event, come one, come all - bring a date, bring your kids, bring some hometown spirit. Have yourself a great Friday night.

*this is true - over 13,000 FBS football players represent 49 states, but not Vermont - we've got the talent in the state and I honestly believe that if Vermont can figure out how much fun it is watching and supporting high school football it will do great things for the community and help lead these players to do great things - on the field and off.
