To celebrate TEN years as a school of Tae Kwon Do, TKD KICKS' students are breaking boards for charity! Martial artists have a long tradition of standing up for others, so on Saturday, September 24th, Master Kellie Thomas and her students will be kicking, punching, striking and making a whole lot of noise smashing boards to raise money for these TEN local agencies:
* Champlain Valley Agency on Aging (Meals on Wheels, etc.)
* Middlebury Rec Dept (scholarships)
* Camp TaKumTa (summer camp for kiddos with cancer)
* Special Olympics
* WomenSafe
* Big Change Round Up (UVM Children's Hospital)
* Homeward Bound (Middlebury Humane Society)
* Charter House (housing & meals for the homeless)
* Addison County Benefit Tractor Pull ($ for local families in need)
* Derick Leroy Benoit Scholarship Fund
We are asking businesses and individuals in the community to sponsor our efforts. You can make a donation through this link: https://www.gofundme.com/tkdkicks. You may also contact Master Thomas directly at 377-0476. Finally, you may also sponsor an individual TKD KICKS' student or family with a per board donation. I think 7 martial artists in my family are participating ranging in age from 3 to 40 (that would be me on the high end), and we would be proud to accept your pledge. Please respond to this message if you're interested. Thank you to all the very generous members of our community!
