Maple Corner/Calais is a happening place. Here are a few upcoming events I'm excited about, I hope to see lots of you at them as well!
Saturday, Sept 10th, 3-5 pm @ the Kent Museum - Opening Celebration of Parables! Featuring food, drink, and lively swing jazz by Lewis Franco & The Brown-eyed Girls, with special guest Dono Schabner. Open Fridays through Sundays, 10 to 5, until the Closing Celebration, Sunday, October 9th, from 3 to 5 pm. If the annual Kent Museum Art Show isn't on your list of must do fall activities, it should be!
Sunday, Sept 11th, 3-4pm @ the Old West Church - Vermont teen slam poetry group MGMC (Muslim Girls Making Change) will be performing along with their mentors, Denise Casey and Rajnii Eddins. We are very lucky to have this group right here in Calais, this will be a performance not to miss!
Sunday, September 11th, 5-7PM: MCCC's Annual Corn Roast at the Robinson Saw Mill. Delicious *very* local corn is provided and will be roasted in the bonfire. Please bring a potluck dish, your own plate/silverware etc., and a lawn chair or blanket if you'd like one. Everyone is Welcome!!

Save The Date: The Maple Corner Community Centers 56th (??) Annual Fall Foliage Festival will be the weekend of October 7-9! Stay Tuned for details including the famed Variety Show, Beggars Brunch, first ever story telling night, a revival of the Silent Auction, a slew of kids activities, and much much more! Details and requests for food/volunteers will be coming as they're finalized.
