Hello Everyone!
The Planning Commission will be meeting on Thursday, September 8, 2016 @6:30 p.m. at 81 Main Street Conference Room! The following items are scheduled:
1. Public Comments. There is a consent application, and this is your opportunity to make any comments about this item. It will be heard immediately following this agenda item. You can also use this time to talk about any other concern/complaint/compliment/etc. that does not have to do with the remaining items on the Agenda!
2. Consent Agenda: The Bagel business was sold a few months back. Kyle Goldberg transferred his coffee brewing from The Bagel into the abutting unit (that used to be the florist). Kyle is now proposing to add a small café to serve his specialty coffee as well as serve ice cream.
3. Site Plan: UVM sold some of the properties located on Ethan Allen Avenue to Champlain Housing Trust (CHT). CHT is proposing to convert the existing building/units into condominiums. This requires a subdivision process. No new buildings are proposed. No additional land is added. Everything is as it exists today, except for the change of ownership and the conversion to condominium tiers.
4. Site Plan: The Town of Essex and Fellowship of the Wheels are putting a site plan in place for the existing trails located on the 90-acre school parcel. Upgrades are needed to the existing trails, such as repairing/replacing bridges and/or culverts; it will establish a designated parking area (cars can now be towed if parked on Saxon Hill Road); appropriate installation of signage. No new trails are proposed.
