A reminder about the Calais Founders Day, with Ted Wheelock, on Sunday, Sept. 11, starting at the Calais Town Hall around 11 AM, with a Picnic potluck, or bring your own, if you wish. There will (probably) be tours of points of Historical interest in Calais, incl. the Wheelock Monument in Kents Corner, which is the site of the first permanent settler in Calais, Abijah Wheelock.
On Monday evening, Sept. 12, the Calais/E. Montpelier Historical Societies will hold their Sept. meeting at the Calais Town Hall, starting at 6 PM, with a potluck, followed with a presentation by Ted Wheelock, who is visiting from Ca. He has a lot of information about Calais history, and esp. about the ancestors of many of us.
All are welcome to both events. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
